Just a quick few bits of important news.
It’s crazy how time flies, we’re only 8 weeks until the second Nelson’s Tour de Test Valley sportive rolls out of Hampshire, we can’t wait to welcome you back to the stunning Test Valley and hopefully give you another cracking day in the saddle.
A massive thank you to everyone that has entered so far, with nearly 450 riders signed up all ready, we’re pedalling fast towards our target of 750 entrants for 2014.
This leaves roughly 300 places left, If you haven’t entered online already jump on this link and get signed up today – now’s the time to lock it in, we’d hate for you to miss out. Please tell all your cycling pals too.
RAISE A LITTLE, HELP A LOT!
If you have entered already it would be amazing if you could set up a fundraising page and raise a few pennies for CALM. We really need your help, and every little bit counts.
CALM exists to prevent male suicide in the UK, right now the single biggest killer of men aged between 20-49 in England and Wales. With a staggering average of three men a day taking their lives, male suicide now accounts for 77% of all suicides in the UK. This has to change.
Last year you helped us raise an incredible £60,000 which enabled CALM to employ more staff on their helpline. One person in the CALM call centre takes nearly 8000 calls a year – that’s a lot of potential lives saved! By pedalling that bike, and raising a few quid, your directly helping these people.
This year we want to beat our 2013 total – CALM desperately needs funding to employ more staff taking these crucial calls.

STRAVA & PRIZES
For anyone that fancies an extra little challenge and added spice on the day, in the next few weeks we’ll be announcing details of Strava challenges. Each route will have a timed segment to pit your self against the clock and other riders on the day. They’ll be prizes up for grabs for anyone than has a bash, and of course bragging rights at the bar!
COFFEE IS KING!
We’re pleased to announce that the South West’s finest baristas – Boston Tea Party – will be at Ride HQ serving up their incredible coffee, the perfect start to your ride to get that engine purring and the legs firing! (scientifically proven don’t you know) The guys will be at HQ all day, selling cake and other lovely goodies.
As per last year they’ll be breakfast available from 7am at HQ, feed stations on all routes, a free meal for all finishers and a fully stocked bar to stagger into on your triumphant return!
